New round of U.S. softwood lumber duties

Alberta's lumber industry and government, as well as their federal counterparts, are getting ready to take on the U.S. in international tribunals after the Americans imposed a second round of tariffs on Canadian softwood lumber on June 26.

The U.S. Department of Commerce increased the duty it imposed on Canadian softwood lumber to 26.75 per cent from the 19.88 per cent it slapped on the Canadian industry in April.
