The University of Maine and the U.S. Department of Energy’s Oak Ridge National Laboratory announced Thursday a new research collaboration to advance efforts to use wood fiber in 3D printer manufacturing.
The $20 million initiative is seen as a promising new technology with strong potential to create a new market for Maine’s $8.5 billion forest products industry.
