FSC Canada was proud to be part of Toronto Climate Week again in 2026, a citywide gathering to advance solutions for a more resilient future.
Throughout the week, TOCW created important space for conversation and collaboration, and FSC was pleased to help bring forests and responsible forest management into that dialogue.
Our participation this year helped strengthen awareness of the role FSC certification plays in climate action, biodiversity protection, and trusted sourcing. Through speaking engagements at various events, we were able to connect with a wide audience and share how forests are part of the solution to the climate and nature challenges we face today.
What we saw
One of the most encouraging takeaways from TOCW was the level of interest in practical, credible solutions. Audiences were receptive to the message that well-managed forests are a vital climate asset, and that forest stewardship can support both environmental outcomes and long-term value for businesses and communities.
We also saw the power of meeting people where they are. TOCW’s mix of flagship programming and smaller community-focused events created opportunities for meaningful conversations with a diverse range of participants. That event format allowed FSC to easily connect with people across sectors and deepen understanding of the work we do.
Our participation
FSC Canada was highly engaged throughout the week, participating in two of TOCW’s flagship programs: “Natural Resources, Infrastructure & Energy – Building for the Climate We’re Entering” and “Nature & Water.” We were also proud to showcase the FSC Verified Impact program at an exclusive event, where we welcomed guests from a wide range of industries and backgrounds. The event sparked meaningful conversations about the critical role forests play in helping Canada achieve its climate goals, and how responsible forestry can position the country as a leader in building a nature-positive, low-carbon economy.
FSC received strong recognition across social media and within TOCW-related discussions, and was highlighted as a valued returning partner—an acknowledgment that reflects both the strength of our collaboration and the relevance of our work within the climate community.
We are grateful to have been part of TOCW 2026 and to have contributed to a week that brought together so many important voices in one place.
