Despite coverage by US news outlets, there has been limited attention on a significant logistical risk that could greatly impact the Pulp and Paper Industry.
The largest ports on the U.S. East and Gulf Coasts are currently on strike, marking the first union strike since 1977. These are responsible for the vast majority of US trade for the Pulp and Paper Industry.
This potential strike could cause a major disruption in international shipments, possibly rivaling or even surpassing the Red Sea crisis.
