Arsen Kitch, President and CEO of Clearwater Paper, expressed pride in the recognition, attributing the achievement to the dedication of the company’s team. “This prestigious recognition is a testament to the hard work of our innovative product management leadership and resilient mill employees,” said Kitch.
The Future as Fiber Initiative has introduced products such as Nuvo® and Remagine®, which incorporate up to 35% recycled fiber without compromising performance. According to Billy Taylor, Senior Product Manager, the initiative underscores Clearwater's efforts to "take care of the environment and support the next generation."
Barak Bright, Product Development Manager, noted a significant shift in consumer behavior, with younger generations prioritizing sustainability in purchasing decisions. “They aren’t just buying based on cost but on values aligned with sustainability,” Bright commented.
Clearwater Paper’s achievements demonstrate the potential for innovation in paperboard production, despite the challenges of transforming such a traditional industry. The company credits team enthusiasm and collaboration as key drivers of success. "Innovation in the world of paperboard is like moving a battleship," said Taylor, emphasizing the need for coordinated efforts.
