Saint-Félicien (Quebec), June 21, 2018 –The management of Resolute is proud of its employees' workplace safety record reached at La Doré and Girardville sawmills, in Quebec.

Mobilizing all employees from both sawmills has meant that we have surpassed the threshold of 1,250,000 working hours and 500,000 working hours without a single recorded injury, as of May 4 and 18 respectively.

During the recognition ceremonies held on that date, the employees and management teams of the two sawmills received recognition for their workplace health and safety record as part of Resolute's Board of Directors' safety prize. They also chose to support nine organizations from the region by awarding them $25,000, in addition to the $595,000 already presented in the region of Lac-Saint-Jean in the past years. After consulting the employees, the organizations selected for the rewards are: CURE Foundation ($3,000), Le Cran ($3,000), La Maison de la famille Éveil-Naissance ($3,000), Ultramarathon in support of Leucan Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean ($3,000), the Municipality of La Doré ($2,000) and the Ancestral Home of La Doré ($1,000), Foundation Maison Colombe-Veilleux ($5,000), Les Bénévoles de Girardville ($2,500), and Maison Halte Secours ($2,500). Furthermore, the employees of La Doré collected $600 for the CURE Foundation by wearing the "rose pour la cause" on National Denim Day.

"We are very proud of our employees and management teams at our sawmills for their performance in the area of workplace health and safety. Their direct involvement and ongoing vigilance for every task have a direct effect in our operating communities," said Yves Laflamme, president and chief executive officer.

"Resolute's primary value is to prioritize its employees' safety by ensuring that they have an injury-free workplace. All employees at La Doré facilities strive to adhere to world-class safety standards," said Stéphane Painchaud, La Doré general manager.

"We are constantly striving to find new ways of improving our work methods and evaluating our results and efforts in the area of safety," added Michel Dufour, Girardville sawmill manager.

Resolute's Board of directors' safety award program has made it possible to support community and charity organizations chosen by our employees for milestones of more than 250,000 working hours without any recorded injuries, in excess of $2,000,000 since 2010.
