Nova Scotia must act before forests can only be found in parks

During the May 2017 election, Stephen McNeil promised to have an independent review of forest practices in Nova Scotia. This promise was made in response to widespread concerns about clearcutting and management of forestry on Crown lands.

A major worry for many citizens was that WestFor, a consortium of major sawmills, had taken over the management of forestry on western Crown lands.
