Northern Pulp’s court appointed monitor predicts a “lengthy” and “costly” lawsuit if the province doesn’t soon begin negotiating its alleged liability over the Boat Harbour effluent treatment plant’s closure.
“If a resolution is not reached in the near future, it is likely that statute of limitations issues will result in the Petitioners filing of legal proceedings in order to preserve their legal rights,” reads the monitor’s report filed with British Columbia Supreme Court on Monday as part of Northern Pulp’s creditor protection proceedings.
