Canada's first wheat-based pulp mill planned near Regina

Touted as another first, a new $350-million mill that will turn wheat straw into pulp for paper products is planned for the Regina area.

Red Leaf Pulp Ltd. said in a news release that the facility will be the first of its kind in Canada. According to the company, the project will create 250 jobs during construction and 110 full-time permanent jobs once its operational. Construction is expected to begin in 2022.
