CANTON, N.C. (WLOS) — Canton authorities confirm emergency crews were at the scene of a working fire at Evergreen Packaging, also known as the Canton Paper Mill, Monday morning.
Several firefighters remained at the mill into the afternoon. The facility uses many chemicals in the paper making process, so crews from several surrounding jurisdictions, including Haywood and Buncombe counties, responded just in case.
