Grupo Corporativo Papelera (GCP), a major Mexican tissue manufacturer, has begun construction on its first U.S. facility, a $400 million plant in New Caney, Texas.
The new 565,765-square-foot facility, located in the East Montgomery County Industrial Park, will serve as GCP Paper USA’s flagship operation. The plant is expected to be completed by June 2026 and will create approximately 250 jobs in the region.
GCP Paper produces private-label tissue products such as toilet paper, napkins, and paper towels for leading U.S. retailers including Walmart, Sam’s Club, H-E-B, Costco, and Aldi.
The groundbreaking ceremony brought together representatives from GCP Paper, the East Montgomery County Improvement District (EMCID), Satterfield & Pontikes Construction, and Powers Brown Architecture.
With over 20 years of experience, Grupo Corporativo Papelera is known for high-quality tissue manufacturing, serving the private label market across North America. The Texas expansion marks a strategic step to enhance its presence and production capacity in the United States.
