International Paper Halts Pine Hill Mill Operations

Industry News

International Paper has temporarily suspended operations at its Pine Hill mill in Alabama following damage caused by a weather event, the company announced on July 9.

The shutdown follows damage to a critical section of the facility's roof, prompting the company to halt production as a precautionary measure. International Paper said employee and contractor safety remains its highest priority.

The Memphis-based company is assessing the repairs required before restarting production. Manufacturing activities at the site are currently expected to resume in August, subject to the completion of the necessary work.

International Paper is also working closely with customers to minimize potential supply disruptions during the temporary shutdown. The company thanked its employees, customers and other stakeholders for their support as recovery efforts continue.

No injuries or additional operational details were disclosed.
