Jackson Paper Manufacturing and Sustainable Corrugated have announced a unified brand identity under the name Sustainable Corrugated & Containerboard (SCC), formalizing their position as an integrated paper and packaging company.

The rebranding reflects the longstanding operational alignment between the two businesses, which have operated under common ownership and shared leadership while serving corrugated sheet customers across the southeastern United States and containerboard customers throughout North America. With the new identity, the company aims to present a single, cohesive market presence focused on sustainability, service, and long-term growth.

SCC combines Jackson Paper’s recycled containerboard mill in Sylva, North Carolina, with Sustainable Corrugated’s sheet-feeding operations in Morganton, North Carolina, and Dalton, Georgia. Despite the name change, the company said day-to-day operations, customer relationships, product quality, and ordering processes will remain unchanged.

The move further strengthens the company’s position as one of the few remaining independent, vertically integrated paper and packaging producers in the United States, a distinction that has become increasingly rare as consolidation has reshaped the industry over the past decade.

“This rebrand reflects who we already are — one team, one integrated company, and one shared commitment to our customers,” said Bobby Hunter, President, Corrugated. “By bringing our paper and packaging operations together under the Sustainable Corrugated & Containerboard name, we are better positioned to represent the strength of our vertically integrated capabilities and continue investing in the future of sustainable packaging.”

Sustainability remains central to the company’s strategy. SCC produces 100% recycled medium and operates a closed-loop cooling system with zero wastewater discharge. Its operations are supported by a wood-fired boiler and steam turbine system, and the company maintains both FSC® and SFI® certifications. The company also offers corrugated sheets manufactured from 100% recycled fibre for customers seeking environmentally responsible packaging solutions.

According to SCC, its integrated and independent structure provides advantages in responsiveness, operational flexibility, and decision-making by connecting recycled fibre sourcing, paper production, and corrugated sheet manufacturing within a single organization.

“Our customers have always known us for quality, reliability, and responsiveness,” said Matt Gilles, Chief Commercial Officer. “Independence and integration are real advantages for our customers. From recycled fiber to corrugated sheet, decisions are made under one roof. Now, our brand more accurately reflects the integrated, independent paper and packaging company we’ve become.”

Company leaders said the new identity will help strengthen SCC’s market position while reinforcing its focus on sustainability, operational agility, customer service, and long-term growth.
