Following a bitterly cold February, mountain pine beetle mortality could be as high as 98 per cent, but according to an Alberta Agriculture and Forestry official we aren’t out of the woods yet.

“It’s a bit of a sigh of relief,” said Mike Underschultz.

“It was definitely welcome weather – we were hoping for something like this for a number of years but the issue is not over.”
