The province has taken over the dredging of Northern Pulp’s share of the toxic sludge in Boat Harbour after the company failed to submit a plan to do the work.
“We cannot continue to wait. Taking one management approach makes good sense to ensure it's managed in a responsible way and timelines stay on track," said Lloyd Hines, minister responsible for Nova Scotia Lands in a news release on Tuesday.
