Premier not budging on Northern Pulp despite jobs plea

The premier isn’t considering a plea from the union representing Northern Pulp mill workers asking for permission to allow a new effluent treatment plant to be built right away.

“We share a lot of similar concerns but the reality is we need to have something that actually has a permit,” Premier Stephen McNeil told reporters on Thursday.
