Remi G. Lalonde, president and chief executive officer, and Hugues Simon, president, Wood Products, recently visited Resolute’s Senneterre and Comtois sawmills in the Abitibi and Nord-du-Québec regions where they met employees and discussed the US$22 million capital investment planned for Senneterre.
During a productive information session at the Senneterre sawmill, Remi and Hugues described plans to modernize operations with the purchase of a new planer and automated sorting bins. These improvements will reduce production costs and optimize fiber use. Quebec’s Minister of Forests, Wildlife and Parks Pierre Dufour attended the session, as well as Jean-Maurice Matte, mayor of Senneterre, and other regional and local elected officials.
Remi and Hugues then proceeded to the Comtois sawmill in Lebel-sur-Quévillon, where they toured the facility and answered questions from employees.
Thank you to our Senneterre and Comtois teams for the warm welcome!
