Rayonier Advanced Materials reported a fire at its Jesup, Georgia facility on October 11 during planned maintenance.
The fire was quickly contained with no injuries and no risk to the community, thanks to swift action by internal emergency teams and local firefighters.
The plant’s C line is back in operation, but the A and B lines will remain offline for repairs until the week of October 28. RYAM estimates the incident will result in an EBITDA loss of $15 to $20 million, pending insurance recovery.
The company is investigating the cause of the fire and working with customers to minimize disruptions. More details will be shared during the third-quarter earnings call in early November.
