Sofidel, a global leader in paper manufacturing known for its Regina brand, has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Clearwater Paper Corporation’s Tissue Business (CLW Tissue), marking a significant step in Sofidel's growth strategy in North America.

CLW Tissue, a premier player in the North American tissue market, serves major retailers across grocery, club, mass merchant, and discount store channels. The acquisition includes an annual production capacity of 340,000 metric tons, with facilities in Shelby, North Carolina; Lewiston, Idaho; Las Vegas, Nevada; and Elwood, Illinois. The transaction, expected to close in 2024, is subject to regulatory approvals and customary closing conditions.

With sales exceeding $1 billion and over 1,600 employees, CLW Tissue's integration will enhance Sofidel’s customer offerings, expand technological capabilities, and optimize its manufacturing network. The acquisition also aligns with Sofidel’s commitment to sustainability and operational excellence.
