Wildfire season starts in B.C. as firefighters tackle Squamish blaze

On Monday afternoon, April 1, a three-person fire attack crew was dispatched to a 3.5-hectare blaze 17.5 kms up the Squamish Valley Road.

According to a B.C. Wildfire Service spokesperson, that crew was backed up by another 10 firefighters and a helicopter. No air bombers had been called to the blaze by 6:30 p.m.
