- Customers now have information on greenhouse gas emissions, water use and renewable energy consumption.
- Full transparency shows the progress that Altri has made, and will continue to make, in being increasingly sustainable.
- Altri Group is the first in its sector worldwide to integrate this information into commercial documents.
The Altri Group, a world reference in the production of cellulosic fibres, has just introduced in its commercial documents the environmental information resulting from the processing, production, and distribution of its products, being the first producer to take this important measure.
The documents sent to Altri customers now present information on greenhouse gas emissions, water use and renewable energy consumption, all in a simple and intuitive way. The values presented will be based on the ton of cellulosic fibres produced by Altri.
The disclosure of this information validated by independent entities will allow its customers to understand the environmental impact of the delivered product, being able to calculate the impact of the final product more quickly. At the same time, it allows comparison with other suppliers, definitively introducing environmental variables in the choice options. It will also show the progress that Altri has made, and will continue to make, in being increasingly sustainable.
The Altri Group has identified, in 2020, the main objectives to be achieved within the scope of its sustainable development, defining them in the 2030 Commitment. These goals, in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, include, among others, reducing emissions of greenhouse gases, water consumption and the use of energy obtained exclusively from renewable sources in its operations.
The responsible performance of the Altri Group has been recognized by several international independent entities. In 2021, it received an A- rating in the fight against climate change by CDP, becoming part of the restricted group of international companies with a “Leadership” performance, and was considered by the ESG Risk Ratings of Sustainalytics, from Morningstar, as a “Low ESG Risk Company” for investors, being in the top 10 worldwide among companies in the pulp and paper sector.
