Cepac, a leading independent corrugated packaging producer in the UK, has launched a £53 million investment program at its Rotherham site in northern England.

Named Rotherham 2, the three-year project aims to increase capacity, modernize production, and strengthen the company’s position as an innovative supplier of packaging solutions.

Expansion and Modernization

The first phase of the program, representing nearly half of the total budget, focuses on reorganizing and upgrading the existing Meadows Road facility. Key elements include the modernization of the BHS corrugator, capable of producing up to 240 million m² annually, along with new high-speed conversion lines for printing, cutting, folding, and gluing boxes. Storage and shipping areas will also be expanded.

In addition, approximately 60,000 square feet of new space will be built to connect existing buildings with the new infrastructure, supporting a more efficient production flow.

Innovation and Local Employment

Cepac will also invest in renewable energy and plans to recruit new operators to support increased production levels. The company highlights that the project will not only drive growth and innovation in its packaging offering but also contribute to the local economy and employment.

Founded in 1999, Cepac has established itself as one of the UK’s leading independent manufacturers of corrugated packaging. The company specializes in high-performance, innovative packaging solutions for a wide range of sectors, from industry to consumer goods.
