Fedrigoni, a global leader in self-adhesive materials and specialty papers, has announced plans to open a new slitting center in Frechen, near Cologne, Germany, in the fourth quarter of 2025.

The state-of-the-art facility will serve customers across Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, and northern France, significantly expanding the company’s footprint in northern and western Europe.

The 6,400-square-meter site will feature three new-generation, 2-meter-wide slitting machines and aims to process up to 90 million square meters of high-quality films and self-adhesive paper materials annually. Target sectors include luxury packaging, food and beverage, personal care, and large-scale retail.

“The opening of the slitting center in Germany aims to support our customers in responding to the increasingly demanding self-adhesive market, particularly in terms of service and short lead times,” said Fernando Girón, Commercial Director EMEA Roll & Sheet Label at Fedrigoni Self-Adhesives. “By positioning ourselves closer to our customers, we are enhancing both our lead times and overall service in this region, which remain top priorities for us.”

In addition to its logistical advantages, the new center aligns with Fedrigoni’s commitment to sustainability. Materials from the site’s redevelopment have been recycled into the new buildings, and heat pumps powered by solar energy from rooftop photovoltaic panels will support the facility’s operations.

This new hub will complement Fedrigoni’s existing slitting center in Poland, which serves northeastern Europe. The expansion marks another step in the company’s broader strategy to enhance regional responsiveness and meet growing demand in the self-adhesive market.

Founded in 1888 in Verona, Italy, Fedrigoni operates 78 sites in 28 countries and offers more than 25,000 products across 132 markets.
