Sappi Europe has announced price increases across its Speciality products and Label paper portfolios, citing persistent cost inflation and prolonged price pressure that have pushed market pricing to unsustainable levels.
For its Speciality products, Sappi Europe will implement price increases of €50 to €70 per tonne, depending on the grade, on deliveries effective April 1, 2026. The company said that despite significant efficiency programs, cost-saving initiatives and restructuring efforts, continued cost inflation combined with price erosion has made the adjustment necessary to protect the long-term viability of the business.
In a separate announcement, Sappi Europe also confirmed price increases of 8% to 10% for its Parade range of Label papers, including wet glue label papers (both wet strength and non-wet strength) as well as self-adhesive face papers. These increases will also take effect on April 1, 2026.
According to the company, label paper prices have been under sustained downward pressure for an extended period, creating a disconnect between market prices and structural cost levels. The announced increase is described as a first step toward restoring sustainable pricing while safeguarding reliable supply across the labelling value chain.
Sappi Europe said the price adjustments will support continued investment in production assets, product development and supply reliability across both product segments. As a strategic supplier to converters, printers, merchants and brand owners, the company reaffirmed its commitment to consistent product availability and service quality.
Customers will be contacted individually by Sappi Europe’s sales organization to discuss implementation details.
