Sappi Europe has announced a price increase of 5–7% across its range of woodfree coated paper sold in sheets in European markets. The increase will apply to new orders and deliveries from October 12, 2026.

In its September 14 announcement, the producer attributed the decision to continued cost increases throughout its supply chain. According to Sappi Europe, these pressures are affecting the economics of paper production despite ongoing efficiency initiatives and cost-control measures.

The company says current market conditions make the adjustment necessary to support its operations and maintain product quality and service reliability. The announcement does not specify which costs have risen or how the increases will vary across the range.

Sappi Europe’s sales teams will contact customers individually to discuss implementation details.

Sappi is a global producer of woodfibre-based materials, including packaging and speciality papers, graphic papers, pulp and biomaterials. Headquartered in Johannesburg, the company has manufacturing operations in Europe, North America and South Africa.
