UPM Expands in Southeast Asia with New Vietnam Terminal

International News

UPM Adhesive Materials, formerly known as UPM Raflatac, is strengthening its presence in Southeast Asia with a new slitting and distribution terminal in Northern Vietnam.

The facility, located near Hanoi, will enhance the company’s ability to serve local customers and meet growing demand in one of Asia’s fastest-developing markets.

Expected to be operational by mid-2026, the new terminal will feature state-of-the-art slitting capabilities and a targeted portfolio of label material inventory tailored to regional needs. This setup will allow UPM to improve delivery efficiency, flexibility, and responsiveness for customers, particularly in the durables and electronics sectors that dominate Northern Vietnam’s economy.

The Vietnam project complements UPM’s recent investment in a new coating line and facility upgrades at its label material factory in Johor Bahru, Malaysia. Together, these developments will boost production capacity and strengthen UPM’s leading market position in label materials across Southeast Asia.

UPM Adhesive Materials currently operates two factories in the Asia-Pacific region—one in China and one in Malaysia—and maintains a network of eleven terminals and warehouses serving customers across Southeast Asia, North Asia, and Oceania.
