UPM Raflatac has significantly expanded its presence in the graphics solutions market through the acquisition of Grafityp, a well-established Belgian company specializing in self-adhesive graphics solutions.

This strategic move aims to strengthen UPM Raflatac’s competitive position by integrating Grafityp’s extensive product portfolio and advanced technologies into its Graphics business.

Founded over 50 years ago, Grafityp has earned a reputation for innovation in color films, print films for large format printing, laminates, and wrapping films. The company operates manufacturing facilities in Houthalen, Belgium, and a distribution center in the UK, employing approximately 100 professionals.

The acquisition represents UPM Raflatac’s ongoing strategy to enhance its Graphics business unit, which was established following the acquisition of AMC AG’s graphics division in 2022. By combining Grafityp’s expertise with its own capabilities, UPM Raflatac aims to offer a broader range of high-value products to meet diverse customer needs in indoor and outdoor advertising, signage, and vehicle wrapping.

Both companies anticipate significant synergies from the merger, leveraging complementary strengths to accelerate growth and expand their customer base. The collaboration also underscores their shared commitment to sustainability and innovation in the graphics industry.

With this acquisition, UPM Raflatac reinforces its position as a leading provider of graphics solutions, poised to capitalize on new market opportunities and deliver enhanced value to customers worldwide.
