WASHINGTON – The American Forest & Paper Association (AF&PA) released the August 2022 Packaging Papers Monthly report on September 15.
Total packaging papers & specialty packaging shipments in August remained essentially flat (-0.1%) compared to August 2021. They were essentially flat (+0.1%) when compared to the same eight months of 2021.
- The unbleached packaging papers operating rate was 94.4%, up 1.1 points from August 2021 and up 1.7 points year-to-date.
- Shipments of bleached food wrapping were 31.600 short tons for the month of August, down 2.1% year-to-date.
