Metsä Fibre has earned EcoVadis Platinum status for the eighth consecutive year, placing the company among the top one percent of pulp, paper and board producers assessed globally.

The company, part of Metsä Group, has maintained its position in EcoVadis’ highest rating category since 2019. The latest recognition reflects its ongoing commitment to responsible business practices and continuous improvement across its operations.

In the 2026 assessment, Metsä Fibre received strong scores in all four evaluation areas: environmental performance, labour and human rights, business ethics, and sustainable procurement.

According to Ismo Nousiainen, CEO of Metsä Fibre, sustainability is embedded throughout the company’s value chain, from workplace safety and the efficient use of energy and raw materials to responsible sourcing and transparent business practices.

The company said the Platinum rating demonstrates its long-term commitment to improving environmental and social performance while providing valuable feedback to support further progress alongside employees, customers, suppliers and other stakeholders.

EcoVadis evaluates the sustainability performance of companies worldwide and provides a widely used platform for assessing suppliers’ environmental, social and ethical practices. Its methodology examines four key areas: environmental responsibility, labour and human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement.

EcoVadis ratings are increasingly used by customers and supply-chain partners as a benchmark for environmental, social and ethical performance.

Metsä Fibre is the pulp and sawmill business of Metsä Group. The company produces pulp, sawn timber and a range of bioproducts, including biochemicals and bioenergy, derived from northern wood. Its products are designed to provide renewable alternatives to fossil-based materials.
