Tetra Pak has reaffirmed its leadership in corporate sustainability by securing a place on the prestigious A-list of the global environmental non-profit CDP.
This recognition highlights the company’s commitment to transparency and performance in addressing climate change.
CDP assessed data from over 22,000 companies worldwide in 2024, ranking them based on disclosure, tangible action, and environmental leadership. Tetra Pak was among the select companies to achieve an ‘A’ score, marking the fourth time in five years it has received this distinction.
“The transparency promoted by CDP is essential in driving climate action,” said Francesca Priora, Vice President Climate & Nature at Tetra Pak. “As a leader in our industry, we have a unique opportunity to influence and support stakeholders across the value chain. Our commitment to reducing environmental impact is deeply connected to our goals in climate action, circularity, social sustainability, and food systems.”
Tetra Pak is working toward net-zero greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions across scopes 1, 2, and 3 by 2050. As of 2023, the company had already reduced absolute GHG emissions across its value chain by 20% compared to its 2019 baseline. It also recorded a 47% reduction in emissions from its own operations, a 21% reduction in upstream emissions, and a 17% reduction in downstream emissions.
Beyond climate reporting, Tetra Pak also disclosed its efforts in forest and water security, earning an ‘A-’ score in both categories and maintaining its position in the CDP leadership band.
CDP evaluates companies based on environmental impact reporting and management, assigning scores from A to D-. The organization continuously refines its criteria, ensuring that A-list companies demonstrate consistent improvement and leadership in sustainability. Tetra Pak’s ongoing presence on the list reflects its long-term dedication to environmental responsibility.
