Two Sides NA takes lead on sustainability messaging

Two Sides North America is stepping into a leading role in promoting sustainability messaging for the paper and packaging sector, following the discontinuation of the consumer sustainability program previously managed by the Paper + Packaging Board.

The transition builds on research and consumer insights developed by the Paper + Packaging Board through its How Life Unfolds® initiative, which helped frame public understanding of the environmental attributes of paper and paper-based packaging. With the program now concluded, Two Sides North America will carry forward that body of work as part of its broader communications efforts.

According to Two Sides North America, the organization plans to leverage existing research to reinforce messages around the renewable, recyclable and essential nature of paper products, while addressing persistent environmental misconceptions. The group positions itself as a central source of credible, data-driven information for consumers, brands and stakeholders across North America.

A key element of this renewed focus is the Love Paper Campaign, an international platform aimed at highlighting the sustainability benefits of paper and fibre-based packaging. Through the campaign, Two Sides North America seeks to connect directly with consumers, emphasizing responsible forest management, circularity and innovation within the sector.

The organization is funded by industry members and works collaboratively with manufacturers, brand owners and supply-chain partners to develop educational materials and outreach initiatives. Its mandate includes promoting environmental performance improvements across the industry and ensuring that sustainability messaging reflects verified data and current practices.

With the transfer of messaging responsibilities, websites previously operated by the Paper + Packaging Board and How Life Unfolds® now redirect to Two Sides North America, consolidating consumer-facing sustainability communications under a single industry platform.
