UPM Scores High in Sustainability Rankings

Sustainability

UPM has received top sustainability ratings from two leading global organizations, CDP and S&P Global.

CDP, a non-profit focused on environmental transparency, awarded UPM an "A" score for climate change leadership and an "A-" for forest and water stewardship. "We have set ambitious targets for all these areas as part of our Group-level sustainability targets for 2030," says Sami Lundgren, VP of Responsibility at UPM.

S&P Global recognized UPM in its 2025 Sustainability Yearbook, listing the company among the top 10% performers in its industry. "We see sustainability as one of the most important drivers of growth and competitiveness," Lundgren adds.

Earlier this year, UPM was also included in the Dow Jones World and European Sustainability Indices. CDP evaluated nearly 25,000 companies, while S&P Global assessed over 7,600 for its Yearbook, selecting only 780. UPM offers renewable and responsible solutions across six business areas and is committed to the UN Business Ambition for 1.5°C.

As a leader in renewable and responsible solutions, UPM continues to innovate for a future beyond fossils, with six business areas: UPM Fibres, UPM Energy, UPM Raflatac, UPM Specialty Papers, UPM Communication Papers, and UPM Plywood.
