IFPC 2026 Sets Technical Fibre Packaging Agenda

Event News

RISE Research Institutes of Sweden has released additional programme details for the International Fibre Moulding and Paper Forming Conference, scheduled for September 23–24, 2026, in Stockholm.

The two-day event will examine developments in 3D-shaped fibre products and paper-based packaging through four programme areas: trends and markets, processes and products, recyclability, and innovation and R&D.

The updated programme highlights presentations on recycled fibre for food-contact applications, dry forming technologies, fibre layering, mineral additives and hot-pressed fibre networks.

Johannes Klumpp, director of refined fibre business and B2B at WEPA, will discuss the compatibility of post-consumer recycled fibre with direct food-contact applications during the second-day recyclability session.

Sanna Fager, chief commercial officer at PulPac, will examine the development of Dry Molded Fiber solutions from initial concepts to market acceptance. Her presentation forms part of the processes and products session on September 23.

The same session will include Victor Oredsson, chief operating officer at Yangi, presenting the company’s FiberIQ™ architecture for high-precision industrial dry forming. Juho Pyrrö, head of Valmet 3D Fiber, will discuss fibre layering using an injection foam-forming process.

Janet Preston, senior scientist at Artemyn, will examine the potential contribution of minerals to moulded-fibre products. Her presentation will also take place during the first-day processes and products session.

The innovation and R&D programme on September 24 will feature Lars Berglund, a professor affiliated with KTH, Linköping University and the Wallenberg Wood Science Center. His presentation will focus on the technical challenges and opportunities associated with hot-pressed fibre networks.

The programme reflects the range of technical issues facing the sector as developers seek to improve material performance, production efficiency, food-contact suitability and recyclability while moving fibre-based packaging technologies toward industrial deployment.

A guided tour of RISE’s research and development facilities will be offered on September 22, one day before the conference. Participants will be introduced to the institute’s technical infrastructure, research environments and current development work.

The conference will take place at House of People in central Stockholm. A conference dinner is planned at the Viking Museum. Registration information is available through RISE.
