Progroup AG, a leading manufacturer of containerboard and corrugated board in Europe, has announced the appointment of Christian Dietershagen as the new Head of Operations Paper (OPP), effective January 1, 2025.

In this role, Dietershagen will oversee the operational management and strategic development of the Paper division at the Landau-based family business.

Maximilian Heindl, CEO of Progroup, expressed enthusiasm about the new appointment, stating, "With Christian Dietershagen, we have gained an excellent reinforcement for the Paper division. He is a proven expert and long-standing leader in the paper industry, whose support will make our paper mills even more efficient and technologically powerful".

Dietershagen brings over 25 years of industry experience to his new position, including a 12-year tenure as Managing Director and Plant Manager of Sappi Stockstadt GmbH. During his time at Sappi, he successfully implemented major projects, introduced lean management systems, and consistently improved paper machine efficiency

The new Head of Operations Paper holds a degree in paper engineering, aligning well with Progroup's focus on technological leadership and innovative production technologies. Heindl emphasized the importance of Dietershagen's alignment with the company's values and goals, a crucial factor for the family-owned business.

In addition to its three paper mills, Progroup has expanded its operations to include 13 corrugated sheetfeeder plants, a logistics company, and a waste-to-energy plant, with a second power plant currently under construction.
