Domtar Corporation has announced the appointment of Tracy Altenbaumer as the new manager of its Ashdown Mill in Arkansas.
This significant announcement marks a milestone as Altenbaumer becomes the first Ashdown native to lead the facility in its 56-year history.
Altenbaumer succeeds J.C. Allaire, who has been promoted to vice president of manufacturing. With 37 years of experience at Domtar, Altenbaumer will oversee all aspects of the mill's operations. He began his career at the Ashdown Mill as a co-op in 1987 and has held various positions, including process engineer, woodyard superintendent, pulp mill superintendent, power and recovery manager, and operations manager.
J.C. Allaire expressed confidence in Altenbaumer's leadership, stating, "Tracy is well-suited to continue the Ashdown Mill's journey towards building a strong performance-driven culture while leading the pulp dryer restart and other key initiatives."
Altenbaumer's extensive experience and local roots position him uniquely to guide the mill through important projects and challenges, underscoring Domtar's commitment to fostering talent within its ranks and recognizing the value of long-term employees.
