A graduate of Purdue University with a B.S. in Chemistry, Haynes joined Smurfit Westrock in 2022 and quickly established herself as a leader in recycling and sustainable development. In addition to her technical achievements, Haynes plays a key role in advancing workplace equity. She co-leads Smurfit Westrock’s Women in Science and Engineering group, promoting mentorship and professional development for women in STEM.

TAPPI’s Young Professional of the Year award honors professionals under the age of 35 with fewer than 10 years of industry experience who demonstrate exceptional leadership, problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to community service. Haynes’ work exemplifies all of these qualities, earning her recognition as a rising star in the field.
