International Paper Announces Leadership Changes

International Paper today announced a reorganization of its leadership team with the appointment of Tim Nicholls as Executive Vice President and President of DS Smith, recently acquired by the company.

Additionally, Lance Loeffler joins the company as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer.

Tim Nicholls to Lead DS Smith

With over 30 years of industry experience, Tim Nicholls has served as International Paper’s Chief Financial Officer since 2018, a role he previously held from 2007 to 2011. He also led the company’s packaging business in North and South America between 2014 and 2018 and was based in Europe as Vice President and CFO for IP Europe.

He played a key role in the integration of DS Smith and has served as interim leader of the business in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) since the acquisition’s completion. A New Chief Financial Officer

Lance Loeffler takes over as Chief Financial Officer of International Paper. With more than 25 years of experience in finance, strategy, and business leadership, he has worked at UBS Investment Bank, Deutsche Bank Securities, and Halliburton, where he served as CFO for four years. Most recently, he was Senior Vice President for the Middle East and North Africa region.

Andy Silvernail expressed confidence in Loeffler’s ability to support the company’s transformation as a leader in sustainable packaging solutions in North America and the EMEA region.
