International Paper has appointed Katherine Collins and Lori J. Ryerkerk to its Board of Directors, effective October 1, 2026, as it continues to strengthen governance amid an ongoing business transformation.
The appointments coincide with the planned retirement of two long-serving directors. Dr. Kathryn Sullivan, who has served on the board since 2017, and Ahmet C. Dorduncu, a director since 2011, will retire at the end of 2026.
Complementary leadership profiles
Collins brings more than three decades of experience in investment management, sustainable investing and corporate governance.
She most recently served as the first Head of Sustainable Investing at Putnam Investments, where she built the firm's sustainable investment platform into a top 10 U.S. sustainable asset manager with more than $10 billion in assets. Earlier in her career, she held senior investment and equity research leadership roles at Fidelity. Collins is also the founder and CEO of the Honeybee Capital Foundation and the author of The Nature of Investing.
Ryerkerk joins the board following a career spanning more than four decades in the energy, chemicals and specialty materials sectors.
Most recently, she served as Chairman, President and CEO of Celanese Corporation, where she led a major business transformation, including the $11 billion acquisition of DuPont's Mobility & Materials business. Earlier leadership roles at Shell, Hess and ExxonMobil focused on manufacturing, refining, safety and operational performance.

International Paper Chairman and CEO Andy Silvernail said the appointments strengthen the board's ability to guide the company's strategic direction.
According to Silvernail, Ryerkerk brings extensive operational and public company leadership experience, while Collins contributes deep expertise in investment strategy and corporate governance. Together, their expertise is expected to support International Paper's strategic transformation and long-term positioning.
