Billerud announced the appointment of Doug Schwartz as President of Billerud North America and a member of the company's Group Management Team. Schwartz will assume his new role effective September 30, 2024.

With a distinguished career spanning over three decades in the U.S. forest and paper industry, Schwartz brings a wealth of experience to Billerud. He has held key leadership positions at prominent companies such as Sonoco Products Company, International Paper, and Champion International Corporation. Most recently, he served as Vice President and General Manager of Rigid Paper Containers at Sonoco.

Billerud's CEO and President, Ivar Vatne, expressed enthusiasm for Schwartz's appointment, stating that his proven track record and deep industry knowledge make him an ideal fit to lead the company's North American operations.
