Metsä Fibre announced today the appointment of Timi Hyppänen as its new Senior Vice President, Business Development, effective September 16, 2024.
Hyppänen brings extensive experience within Metsä Fibre to his new role. He currently serves as the company's Senior Vice President, Supply Chain, and will continue to report directly to CEO Ismo Nousiainen. He will also remain a member of the Metsä Fibre Management Team.
"We are delighted to have Timi Hyppänen take on this important role," said Nousiainen. "His deep understanding of our business and proven track record within Metsä Fibre make him ideally suited to lead our business development efforts."
Hyppänen succeeds Kaija Pehu-Lehtonen, who has been appointed Project Director of Metsä Group's carbon capture project.
Metsä Fibre, a key business division of Metsä Group, is renowned for its production of pulp, sawn timber, and a range of other bioproducts such as biochemicals and bioenergy. The company is at the forefront of developing sustainable alternatives to fossil materials, with its products made from northern wood, a renewable resource. Hyppänen’s appointment comes as the company seeks to further expand its business development initiatives in alignment with its sustainability goals.
