Rayonier Advanced Materials (RYAM) has appointed Daniel M. Krawczyk as Chief Executive Officer and President, effective immediately, as the company continues its review of strategic alternatives aimed at maximizing shareholder value.
Krawczyk also joins the company’s Board of Directors and will lead RYAM’s operations while working with the Board and its advisors as the process advances.
The Jacksonville, Florida-based producer of high-purity cellulose said its Board remains actively engaged in evaluating a broad range of options with the assistance of Morgan Stanley. The company emphasized that no conclusions have been reached and that the CEO appointment should not be interpreted as signaling any specific outcome.
Krawczyk most recently served as President of Huber Engineered Materials, where he led a global industrial and specialty chemicals portfolio valued at approximately $1.3 billion. During his tenure, he helped transform the business through operational improvements and more than $2 billion in mergers, acquisitions and divestitures.
“Dan is a highly accomplished executive with a strong track record of strategic transformation, operational execution and value creation,” said Julie A. Dill, Non-Executive Chair of RYAM’s Board of Directors. “His experience leading complex industrial businesses and executing significant portfolio-shaping transactions makes him uniquely qualified to lead RYAM during this important period.”
Krawczyk said his immediate focus will be supporting the company’s strategic review while maintaining operational performance.
“I look forward to working with the Board, its advisors and the management team to ensure a rigorous evaluation of strategic alternatives intended to maximize value for our stockholders,” he said, adding that the company will continue to focus on generating positive free cash flow, strengthening its leadership in cellulose specialties and improving EBITDA across its businesses.
Prior to Krawczyk’s appointment, RYAM had established an interim Office of the Chief Executive Officer composed of senior executives from finance, manufacturing, biomaterials and legal functions. That temporary structure has now been dissolved, with its members returning to their previous roles and continuing as part of the company’s leadership team.
RYAM is a global producer of high-purity cellulose used in applications ranging from filters and pharmaceuticals to food products and high-performance plastics. The company also manufactures pulp, paperboard and bio-based co-products, including biofuels and lignin. RYAM operates manufacturing facilities in the United States, Canada and France and reported revenue of approximately $1.5 billion in 2025.
