Essity has named Ulrika Kolsrud as its new President and CEO, effective June 1, 2025.
She will succeed Magnus Groth, who earlier this year announced his intention to step down from the role.
Kolsrud currently leads Essity’s Health & Medical business unit and has been a member of the Executive Management Team since 2015. With a career spanning innovation, production, and sales, she brings comprehensive experience across the value chain in the hygiene and health sectors.
“Ulrika has the right background to lead Essity into its next phase,” said Jan Gurander, Chairman of the Board. “Her leadership, deep industry knowledge, and proven ability to drive results position her well to advance our strategy focused on growth and profitability.”
Under Kolsrud’s leadership, the Health & Medical division has seen notable success since 2019. Her appointment marks a continued emphasis on innovation and strengthening Essity’s global brand portfolio.
“I am honored by the Board’s trust and excited to lead Essity into the future,” said Kolsrud. “Together with our talented team of 36,000 employees, we will continue creating value for our customers and driving profitable growth.”
Kolsrud, 54, holds a Master of Science in Engineering from Chalmers University of Technology and will be based at Essity’s headquarters in Stockholm.
