Ahlstrom launches MaxLiner™ release paper in Brazil

Paper Advancement

Ahlstrom has expanded its global portfolio of release liner solutions for pressure sensitive adhesive (PSA) labeling with the launch of MaxLiner™, a new high-density, high-transparency release paper manufactured at its Jacareí plant in Brazil.

The new product strengthens the company's regional manufacturing footprint by providing South American label manufacturers with a local supply of a key release paper. It complements Ahlstrom's existing Brazilian portfolio, which already includes clay-coated release papers as well as coated and uncoated label papers.

According to the company, local production will improve supply continuity while reducing lead times for customers across the region.

Drawing on Ahlstrom's global expertise in release liner technology, MaxLiner™ is designed to meet the density, transparency and hold-out requirements needed for silicone coating, lamination, printing, die-cutting and dispensing of PSA labels.

Like the company's other labeling materials, MaxLiner™ is manufactured from responsibly sourced certified renewable fibers and is available with chain-of-custody certification to support customers' sustainable sourcing objectives.

"MaxLiner™ is a tangible demonstration of our continued commitment to the PSA industry and our strong focus on South America," said Marco Martinez, Head of Product, Sustainability and Marketing, Release Liners, at Ahlstrom.

With production now established in South America alongside its existing glassine and SCK release paper operations in Europe and North America, Ahlstrom further strengthens its position as a global supplier to the PSA labeling industry.

In addition to labeling applications, the company's release liner solutions also serve the composites, graphics, industrial, food, medical and tape markets.
