Monadnock Paper Mills has introduced Stello™, a new premium printing paper designed as a modern alternative to traditional eggshell sheets while addressing evolving market demands for flexibility, availability, and sustainability.
The Bennington, New Hampshire-based paper manufacturer said Stello combines the familiar look and feel associated with classic eggshell papers with improved responsiveness and supply flexibility. The launch comes as many legacy premium grades face longer lead times, higher order minimums, and reduced product options.
Available in both refined eggshell and super smooth finishes, Stello is intended for a broad range of commercial printing applications, including direct mail, marketing collateral, brand communications, and other premium print projects.
According to Monadnock, the grade features a brightness rating of 98, providing strong contrast, crisp whites, and reliable ink holdout. The company positions the sheet as a direct replacement for heritage eggshell and smooth papers, with compatibility across both offset and digital printing platforms.
The product has also received HP certification for runnability, ink adhesion, and blanket compatibility. Stello is currently offered in 80 lb. and 100 lb. text weights, along with 65 lb., 115 lb., and 130 lb. cover grades, enabling printers to support a variety of applications without significant press adjustments.
“Stello is designed for printers and designers who expect beautiful presentation without compromising performance,” said Chloe Jones, Director of Marketing & Communications at Monadnock Paper Mills. “With its refined eggshell finish and dependable print performance, it delivers the tactile quality and consistency today’s projects demand.”
Sustainability is another key element of the product’s positioning. Stello is manufactured at Monadnock’s New Hampshire mill, which holds EcoVadis Platinum status and operates under an ISO 14001-certified environmental management system. The paper is FSC-certified and produced using Green-e-certified renewable wind energy. Monadnock also states that its products are manufactured carbon neutral through investments in verified emission reduction projects.
In addition to environmental credentials, the company highlights the operational advantages of its independent mill model, including lower minimum order quantities, shorter turnaround times, and greater responsiveness compared with some traditional luxury paper suppliers.
Monadnock indicated that the Stello product line will continue to expand, with envelope grades expected to be added in the future to support coordinated print programs.
Founded in 1819, Monadnock Paper Mills produces performance papers for commercial printing, packaging, and technical applications, with a focus on environmentally responsible paper solutions.
