PaperWeek 2017 will live up to its name

The bold 'Staying Ahead of the Curve' theme for this year's event has prompted organizers to revamp, reorganize, and reenergize a solid program packed with networking opportunities, invaluable learning potential and a dynamic and engaging technical program. Recognizing that the pulp and paper sector no longer operates in a silo, PaperWeek organizers are bringing together new, thematic conferences designed to support and encourage the diverse aspects of the industry under one roof of education, knowledge exchange and opportunity. From February 13-17, 2017, at the Sheraton Centre in Montreal, QC, mill personnel, industry suppliers, academia and research participants will convene at the global pulp and paper industry's most important annual conference and tradeshow, where participants will enjoy access to a brand new format of four joint events organized under the PaperWeek umbrella; Tissue Masters, TechPack, PulpEx and ConverTech.

The Tissue Sector has proven to be a critical component of PaperWeek and this year's event will devote a full length track to the theme. With an emphasis on markets, technology and process improvements, key industry players from Canada and the international community are expected to attend and contribute to these invaluable sessions.

In recognition of the important contributions of the paperboard packaging industry, PaperWeek 2017 will also devote a track to the sector, called TechPack. In these sessions, experts will discuss the most recent technological advancements in the field, provide market updates, and present on new projects and technology implementations that have been at the forefront of the packaging industry.

Building on the successful launch of PulpEx at PaperWeek 2016, this year mill representatives, market analysts, suppliers and field experts will return to discuss the most recent advancements and applications in pulp production, technology and market outlooks. Sessions on continuous improvement, bleach cost saving initiatives, technology, approaches to shut down strategies, and water and energy conservation are just some of the subjects participants can look forward to learning about in this track.

PaperWeek 2017 will also include an inaugural conference catering to the converting sector. With presentations on the latest technological applications, trends and challenges and more, ConverTech will provide a unique learning opportunity for conference participants.
