The federal government has announced the launch of the Wildfire Resilience Consortium of Canada (WRCC)—a national Centre of Excellence and virtual hub that will support the advancement of wildland fire innovation, integrates Indigenous knowledge and practices, and promotes adaptive forest management.

This is a major step forward in the government’s efforts in preventing wildfires and strengthening wildfire resilience.

FPInnovations is proud to be a core partner of the WRCC, along with other partners including the Institute for Catastrophic Loss Reduction (ICLR), the National Indigenous Fire Safety Council (NIFSC), Thompson Rivers University Wildfire (TRU Wildfire), and Forest Products Association of Canada (FPAC).
