Todd Loewen, Alberta’s Minister of Forestry and Parks, has been confirmed as the keynote speaker for the PACWEST Conference 2026, scheduled to take place from May 27 to 30 at the Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge in Jasper, Alberta.
The announcement comes as the pulp and paper industry prepares to gather under the conference theme “Pulp and Paper Strong: Focus Where It Counts.” Minister Loewen is expected to address the future of Alberta’s forests and the role of the forest products sector within the province’s economy, at a time when sustainability, competitiveness and resource management remain central industry priorities.
PACWEST 2026 will bring together industry leaders, senior executives and technical experts for four days of technical sessions, panel discussions and networking opportunities. The event is designed to foster collaboration across the pulp and paper value chain, with a focus on operational performance, innovation and shared challenges facing the sector.
Organizers say the keynote address will offer participants a direct perspective from provincial leadership on policy developments, market conditions and long-term opportunities for the forest industry in Western Canada and beyond.
Registration for PACWEST 2026 is now open. The conference will be held at the Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge, providing a setting that combines technical exchange with networking in one of Canada’s most recognized resort destinations.
PACWEST is a technical conference dedicated to facilitating collaboration and knowledge sharing among pulp and paper professionals, supporting continuous improvement and engagement across all segments of the industry.
