In a press release, international technology group ANDRITZ and Swedish pioneer PulPac AB have announced a strategic partnership to offer complete Dry Molded Fiber lines.
This collaboration aims to drive innovation in the sustainable packaging market, providing an eco-friendly alternative to single-use plastics.
PulPac’s Dry Molded Fiber technology molds cellulose fibers into various three-dimensional products such as coffee lids, cutlery, and trays, using a process that requires almost no water. These biodegradable and recyclable products, made from wood pulp, are gaining importance in replacing single-use plastics, addressing a growing demand for environmentally friendly packaging.
The partnership will combine PulPac’s innovative fiber-molding process with ANDRITZ’s expertise in turnkey pulp mills, web forming, converting, and recycling technologies. By joining forces, the two companies will be able to offer fully integrated Dry Molded Fiber production lines, expanding ANDRITZ’s portfolio of sustainable solutions.
“This partnership with PulPac enables us to engineer economically viable and resource-saving solutions for Dry Molded Fiber products that contribute to the reduction of single-use plastics,” said Andreas Lukas, Division Manager of Nonwoven & Textile at ANDRITZ.
PulPac’s COO, Viktor Börjesson, also highlighted the significance of the collaboration, stating, “Teaming up with ANDRITZ unlocks great potential by combining our technology with their know-how, especially in forming, converting, and recycling.”
The partnership builds on previous successful collaborations, with several industrial lines already using PulPac’s technology along with strategic components from ANDRITZ. This collaboration strengthens the companies' commitment to scaling sustainable packaging solutions globally.
