Sun Paper has successfully started up its XcelLine PM 2 paper machine in Beihai, southeastern China.
The project, delivered by Voith, was completed in a record 18 months from contract signing to operational launch, despite logistical challenges linked to the global pandemic.
The PM 2 has a design speed of 1,300 meters per minute and a wire width of 8,900 mm. It is designed to produce over one million tons of white folding boxboard annually, with basis weights ranging from 170 to 350 grams per square meter.
PM 2 is the latest in a series of XcelLine paper machines provided by Voith to Sun Paper, bringing the total number delivered to twelve. The facility incorporates recent technological developments aimed at enhancing operational efficiency, safety, and environmental performance.
