Smurfit Westrock Among TIME’s World’s Best Companies

Industry News

Smurfit Westrock has been named one of TIME Magazine’s World’s Best Companies for 2025, marking its second consecutive appearance on the global ranking.

The company achieved a significant leap this year, climbing more than 400 places to reach rank 205 overall and placing in the top 10 within the manufacturing category.

The TIME list, developed in collaboration with global data firm Statista, evaluates businesses worldwide based on employee satisfaction, revenue growth, and ESG performance. Smurfit Westrock’s strong results across these areas highlight its ongoing focus on sustainability, innovation, and workplace culture.

The company’s latest Sustainability Report underscores these achievements, citing initiatives such as the creation of a fully recyclable bed for the Paris Olympics and the issuance of $2 billion in Green Bonds to fund environmental projects.

“This recognition from TIME is testament to our performance-led culture and the talent and skill of our people,” said Tony Smurfit, President and CEO of Smurfit Westrock. “As one of the world’s leading providers of sustainable packaging, we are committed to doing the right thing by all our stakeholders.”

The accolade follows other recent honors, including top placement on Sustainability Magazine’s Top 10 Sustainable Packaging Companies and inclusion on the Forbes Global 2000 list earlier this year.

Formed through the 2024 merger of Smurfit Kappa and WestRock, Smurfit Westrock is one of the world’s largest providers of sustainable paper and packaging solutions. Headquartered in Dublin, the company operates across more than 40 countries, focusing on renewable, circular packaging designed to reduce environmental impact and support a low-carbon future.
